REVIEWS

The score is very linear, almost as if written for the violin. The rhythmic manipulation of the beat in the work is cleverly tackled.

Therese Wassily Saba, Classical Guitar, February 1992

Toccata Rondo is quite a substantial solo guitar piece; the standard required to perform this work is about Grades 7-8. I found it very interesting and, after several plays-through, quite likeable. It has a strong rhythmic drive with a melodic line being perpetually thrust forward…..The work concludes with the driving, energetic force of the original 6/8 section, this time varied to bring the work to a brilliant ending. Toccata Rondo is a worthy addition to the growing list of music for guitar in the Corda catalogue. Recommended.

Steve Marsh, Classical Guitar, May 1992
