This work is a compilation of earlier material – five fanfares (Op.30 No.3 to No.7) combined with two choral pieces (Op.46 No.1 and No.2), re-composed for brass quintet and for brass septet.

Constantly changing combinations of instruments gives wide textural variety, and frequent use of mutes provides added sonority.
